Torsåker Bluegrass Festival was started in 1984 in Torsåker in Gästrikland by Lars Blom, Leif Sunnebrandt, Johnny "Acke" Larsson and Tommy Järström. The festival was organized for many years at Gammelgården in Torsåker, but as the festival grew it was moved down to Torsåker IP and later established itself at Tors Loge and Torsåkers Bygdegård.

The festival a good collaboration with Torsåker IF who is currently responsible for the campsite. This has allowed the festival to grow even more.
