Samuel John Mougin *12.10.2009

Congratulations to Jana Dolakova Mougin (from Slovak based band Fragment) and Stephen Mougin on the birth of their new son on 12th October 2009.

According to Stephen 's report on facebook at 20.40 pm on that day, all are happy and healthy.

Uncle Ned Luberecki, who has just returned from home from teaching at the Munich Banjo Camp, is already teaching him the backwards and forward roll.

Good luck to the young family from this end of the pond. I'm sure many in Europe are looking forward to seeing Jana again on a next tour, together with little Sam...

2nd European Bluegrass Summit to be held 5-7 Feb. 2010 in Bühl, Germany

Dear European Bluegrass Friends,

Following a very successful 1st European Bluegrass Summit in Bühl, Germany, last February, the European Bluegrass Music Association was implicitly asked to take up the thread and offer the platform for a follow up. Also, this event is fully supported by IBMA as a major and effective tool to bring the scene together more closely and to find ways to fulfil the goals set at the first meeting.
Therefore, EBMA is happy to now announce that arrangements to hold the 2nd European Bluegrass Summit on the weekend of 5-7 February 2010 have been made. The convention will be generously hosted again by the city of Bühl offering the entire meeting facilities and infrastructure for free.
A free bluegrass concert will entertain attendees on the evening of Saturday in the famous Bühl Schüttekeller, also sponsored by the City.
As last year, attendees are invited from all quarters in Europe, the costs and arrangements for travel, subsistence and accommodation are the entire responsibility of the participants.
The summit will be limited to 40 delegates and early booking is advised.
Further information and proposed schedule are attached here (EBS2010_schedule.pdf).
Please help us spread the word to people you think should attend this summit by:
1. Circulating this proposal as set out in this e-mail to others who you know to be interested and involved in European Bluegrass.
2. Replying to this e-mail indicating your name; your willingness to attend, and who you represent (i.e. association, band, business or individual etc.)
Please send your responses until 14th November 2009 to admin@ebma.org OR EBMA, Holeerain 29, CH-4102 Binningen, Switzerland

Kind Regards,
Angelika Torrie
European Bluegrass Music Association

Bluegrass Europe #68

The Bluegrass Europe editorial team regret that technical difficulties led again to misprinting of three pages in issue #68 of the magazine. The pages, as they should have appeared, are now downloadable as PDFs from EBMA's website, here. You may print these pages and insert them in your copy of Bluegrass Europe for completeness.

We believe that the problem has now been fully identified and will not happen again. Thank you for your understanding.

Bluegrass Music all over Europe in May 2009!

All Concerts & Festivals during the EWOB month 2009 are now online!
EBMA.ORG guides you to all that is happening during the EWOB month, as far as it is known by the coordinating body. So far, 145 concerts, festivals and other events are listed. The list will grow and will be updated if you send in information on your bluegrass events in the month of May. Rienk Janssen and EBMA.ORG webmistress Angelika Torrie will keep adding more events, and also it is thinkable that there will be some changes. More details can be found at the websites of the artists and promoters quoted in the list.
Remember, all these events are organised independently, and not by the EBMA (except, of course, the Voorthuizen EWOB festival). To make sure, an event is acutally happening, please refer directly to the organisers.
